Parents are the primary teachers of faith for their children. It is very important you show by your example the importance of daily prayer and attending Mass on the weekend. This commitment reinforces that everything in our lives begins and ends with God. By attending and participating in weekend Mass, it allows your child to experience what is being taught in religion class and grow in God’s unconditional love.
The staff at St. Theodore’s is here to support and encourage the development not only of your child, but the entire family’s growth in our Catholic faith. We look forward to assisting parents as they “pass on the faith” to their child in our Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation Programs.

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is during the 9:00 a. m. mass for children ages 4-12. The children process to the Library with an adult leader after the opening prayer. The Gospel is read from the Children’s Lectionary and the homily is explained on the children’s level. The children offer their petitions, sing songs, receive a pamphlet with the Gospel reading and activities to do at home. They return to their parents at the beginning of the Offertory.
These special liturgies take place at the 9:00 Mass during the school year for children in grades 1-6 and their families. Each grade has their own Mass and the children participate as greeters, lectors and gift bearers. The homily is geared toward their grade level and the children receive a blessing and gift from the parish. After Mass there is a pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus to meet the teachers and other families in the program.
